Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror game. It was initially released for PlayStation 2 by Konami and Team Silent has developed the game. It is the second installment in the Silent Hill Series. The game was released in the month of September 2001. The Xbox version of Silent Hill 2 was released in the month of December, 2001. The game was released for Microsoft Windows in the month of December, 2002. Silent hill 2 received positive feedback by the critics and audience. Over one million copies of the game were sold within the month of its release in Japan, North America and Europe. The greatest sale were made in North America. Critics praised the graphics, story, atmosphere and monster deign of Silent Hill 2.Silent Hill 2 GamePlay: The main objective of Silent Hill 2 is to guide the player character, named James Sunderland. He searches for his deceased wife in the monster filled town of Silent Hill. The game features a 3rd person view with various camera angles. Heads up display are not used in the game to check James Sunderland's health, items and locations. The player has to pause the game in order to review James status. James has to collect maps which can be read only when there is a sufficient light or his torch light is on. He updates relevant maps to reflect clues, locked doors and obstructions. The game play is mostly consist of navigating the town, finding keys or other items to bypass doors or other obstructions. Puzzles will be presented through out the game. Riddles can also be presented to the player to interpret it.The radio of james alerts him to the presence of creatures by emitting static. He can detect them through the thick fog easily by the help of radio.
Silent Hill 2 Game's Features: The music of Silent Hill 2 is composed by Akira Yamaoka. Extensive use of sound effects ranging from foot steps to scream and broken glasses are used in the game. Silent Hill 2 Original soundtrack was published in Japan by Konami on 3rd October, 2001. The Game's soundtrack consist of eight tracks.
